A lab is a long argument with the present.

Kapllan Labs began with a plain observation: the Nordics were adopting AI quickly and understanding it slowly. Capability was arriving as a service, priced, versioned and governed elsewhere, while the languages, institutions and industries it was being pointed at were here.

So the first decision was not which product to build. It was where the competence should live. Close to the data that matters, close to the people who carry the consequences, close enough to be corrected.

One building, one loop. Research reads, engineering builds, application returns the verdict, and the loop runs again. Models are trained from scratch where that teaches us something, and assembled where it does not.

We publish what we learn when publishing helps, and we ship slowly on purpose. Patient by nature, legible by design.
